STAR testing is soon approaching! We did another four questions as warm-ups today. Then we finished reading II.ii so that we could watch the video clips. "What clips?" you may ask. We watched three different versions of the balcony scene from R&J movies. The students were to take notes on each one according to what they chose to write about as a movie critic. Some of the ideas were to look at the scenery, the dialogue, what was cut from the original play, the costumes, the music and the effect it has on the production, etc.
Homework: This is a big one! The students are to take the notes they have written from the clips and write a "pressure comp" of sorts. Have the student sit in a quiet place and time the student. Don't let them write for more than an hour. They can revise the pressure comp, but have them take a break before revising.
