Slam Poetry and Act Summary

Today we started with one of my favorite forms of poetry, Spoken Word, also known as Slam poetry. The Academic Fair is coming up (June 4th) and students will have the opportunity to write various forms of poetry and the perform Slam pieces that they may choose to write. Students will get extra credit for each piece they write within the limits of the entrance requirements.

Then we transitioned back to R&J and wrote the Act 2 Summary. This is like the Act 1 Summary that we did as a class. Students should have copies of the Act Summary purple sheet, as well as their Act 1 Summary to reference.

Homework: If students did not finish the summary in class, they need to finish them as homework.
