My apologies to those of you who keep up with my blog and look for the information from the website to make sure you are on task with the assignments. I will do my best to update one and all on our progress to this point.
Wednesday, May 27th, we worked on our Act 3 Summary and had a fabulous discussion on said summary (as always!).
Thursday, May 28th, we read Act 4 with brilliance and theatrical importance! (Is this getting thick yet?)
Friday, May 29th, we finished Act 4 and started the Act 4 Summary. This was also the day Mr. Staiano and I kissed the pig for the benefit of the Safe & Sober Grad Night! I tell you, some teachers will do anything for their students! Make sure to check out the pictures in the classroom if you haven't already! They look marvelous!
Monday, June 1, We started reading the finale, Act 5. This is the culmination of all our work! And it was read well!
Today, we had a split day. Fifth period finished Act 5 and started their Act 5 Summary. Fourth period went to the "DUI in School" assembly. For the previous four days we have been working on warm-ups that have to do with drinking and driving, as well as car crashes and how the liver functions when overloaded with alcohol. Today, at least for fourth period, we had the honor of seeing an actual sentencing where a real person who was convicted of a DUI on Superbowl Sunday of this year was sentenced for the crime of drunk driving. (He looked a little uncomfortable.) Tomorrow fourth period will finish the play and work on their Act 5 Summary.
I do not intend to be this late again with the blog spot this year and humbly apologize for the lateness. I hope you are all thinking in terms of where you will be heading with the thematic essay you are about to undertake!
See you tomorrow!
