Today started with a warm-up on independant & dependant clauses versus phrases. We next jumped into Reading Quiz 3 and had a discussion about the plot of the story. We did an activity called "Pair-Share MP3" which involved working with a partner to determine a motif in the book (such as, seed, tree, or mirror), finding a quote that illustrates our motif, and then looking at themes of the book that reflect the motif. The last part of this activity involves working all this information into an analytical paragraph with commentary about the motif and theme.
Homework: finish the paragraph from the "Pair-Share MP3" activity, Reading Seven w/notes.
