So, here's what we did. I had the students work together to critique each other's essays based on a rubric. They were also requested to make comments to each other so that they knew what the person saw as either positive or needing to be worked on. From there, the students were to work on their own critique of their paper. I then let them know that the portfolio was not due until Wednesday, March 11, 2009. This will allow students the opportunity to work on their essay one last time based on the critique that they gave each other.
Homework: Revise essay one last time and continue to finish portfolio.
