Today we didn't have an SOS. Instead, we went right into the vignettes and started to investigate the next four vignettes. We started with the group that presented "Four Skinny Trees." Fourth period's group asked, "Why does Esperanza relate herself to the trees?" Fifth period asked, "What, or who, are the four skinny trees?"
From here we went on to discuss the next two vignettes with the following names and questions:
"No Speak English" - open discussion;
"Rafaela Who Drinks Papaya Juice" - Describe Rafaela's life.
Homework: None for today.
